Sources of Information. We obtain this personal information from you on applications, other forms, or from prior transactions with us. We may also obtain this information from public sources, and with your consent, from nonpublic sources, such as a consumer-reporting agency. We may also collect information about you from our affiliated companies. The information we collect depends on the products or services you request from us.
Categories of Information We Collect. Examples of the information we collect includes: your name, address, social security number, birth date, telephone number, assets, income, prior transactions with us, our affiliates or others, claims history, policy limits, premiums, payment history, driving record, driver's license number, vehicle registration information, and credit history. Examples of information from a consumer-reporting agency include creditworthiness and credit history.
Confidentiality and Security. We will not disclose any personal information about you, even if you are no longer a customer, to anyone except as permitted by law. We restrict access to your nonpublic personal information to those employees or agents who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your nonpublic personal information. We do not give your personal information to telemarketers or any other merchant.
Categories of Information We Disclose to Others. We may share personal information about you to others to provide you services that you request. If you request us to do so, we may provide some of this information to your lender as part of the normal process of insuring their interest in your property. Information about the sharing practices of the lender may be contained in their loan papers or a privacy statement. We may also share limited information about our transactions and experiences with you among our affiliated companies. If you are paying your premium under a premium finance loan, our Insurers and Finance Company share this information about you. If we share your personal information with an affiliated company they are also bound by this same policy on privacy. When you apply for a loan on property we insure, we may obtain a copy of the loan application and the lender's decision. By submitting an application for insurance you consent to this process.
We may obtain or give information about you to credit or loss information bureaus. We may also provide limited information about you to third parties when necessary or appropriate to service an insurance policy we have issued (such as inquiries from a lender or additional insureds listed on the policy or to address claims submitted under a policy we have issued). These parties include: agents, insurance support organizations, attorneys, independent claim adjusters, 3rd party claims service providers, medical providers, and businesses that conduct actuarial or research studies.
Affiliated Companies. Our affiliated Farm Bureau companies are Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company of Idaho, Western Community Insurance Company, Farm Bureau Finance Company, and Farm Insurance Brokerage Company.
Idaho Farm Bureau Federation, Inc. Many of our policyholders are also members of a county Farm Bureau, which is affiliated with the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation, Inc. If you are a member, as part of the application process they independently obtained your name and names of household members (and dates of birth), address, telephone number, commodity information (if you are a farmer) and policy expiration date. They may have also obtained your e-mail address. Although this policy statement does not apply to them, they have committed to keep this information strictly confidential. They may, however, disclose some of this information to their affiliated companies or to others that may offer products or services to you.
